
Through the generosity of the Boyajian family a summer internship program is offered at the JKB Ranch each summer.
This is a unique teaching opportunity that will greatly enhance a "soon to be" career in education. The intern will learn many skills in and out of the classroom,
work with extraordinary teens and make a series of contacts with some of the best and most dedicated teachers around.
It is the goal of the J. Kyle Braid Leadership Foundation and the Boyajians to further the drive, progress, and ability of future educators through interactions with students, staff, and educators with the hope that the intern will learn different teaching styles and methods. The intern will then be able to adapt these in his or her own teaching style to become an even more effective educator. By strengthening their skills, they will then be more prepared to enter the teaching world with a web of contacts of educators from the different JKB schools across the nation. It is our intention to give the intern the learning experience of teaching in an experiential-based classroom environment prior to his/her student teaching semester in college.
Here's a little bit more about the application process:
- If you are a JKB alumni majoring in education, you can apply for this internship the semester prior to your semester of student teaching
- There are two 5 week summer intern sessions to choose from
- It will entail:
- Observing, teaching and preparing necessary material for the leadership program
- Helping with the managerial aspect of the program (logistics)
- Helping out with the "Ranch Work" when needed
- Carrying out intern assignments
- The internship includes:
- Stipend * Travel * Room and Board
